1 pound fresh strawberries
2 cups dark chocolate chips
Steps
Start by rinsing 1 pint of fresh strawberries under cool running water, then gently pat them dry.
Ensure the strawberries are completely dry before dipping—if needed, spread them out and allow them to air-dry.
In a double-boiler or a medium saucepan, add 1-2 inches of water and bring it to a gentle simmer over medium-high heat.
Place 2 cups of dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate in the top section of the double-boiler or in a heatproof bowl set over the simmering water.
Stir occasionally until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth, then remove the bowl from the heat.
One at a time, hold each strawberry by its top leaves and dip it into the melted chocolate. Swirl or rotate the strawberry to ensure an even coating, then lift it out and gently shake off any excess chocolate.
Place each dipped strawberry on its side on a lined baking sheet.
Repeat the process for the remaining strawberries. Allow them to sit until the chocolate is set and dry to the touch.
